Spanish League clubs threaten to suspend the competition because of the Super League.
La Liga president Javier Tebas has confirmed that Spanish football faces an imminent risk of disruption, and has called for an extraordinary meeting next Thursday, October 27, to try to reverse the situation.
The crisis is that there is a real threat to stop Spanish football competitions, if the country’s sports law problem is not fixed.
what happened?
Last Monday, October 17, La Liga representatives as well as representatives of 16 clubs held a meeting with the Minister of Culture and Sports, to express their concern about the role that the new sports law would allow for the launch of the “Super League”.
A series of amendments to the new Spanish sports law left the door open for Spanish clubs to participate in the “Super League” in addition to allowing them to participate in local tournaments at the same time.
There is fear by the Spanish League that the agreement with the “CVC” investment fund will be exposed to serious danger, an agreement that would generate income of about two billion euros for the clubs.

The clubs left the meeting with the Minister of Culture and Sports and there is a state of optimism about changing the new draft law.
The newspaper “COPE” revealed that if the draft is not changed by next Thursday, Spanish football may witness a strike, and the 12th round of the Spanish League and the 13th round of the Second Division will be suspended.
