The appearance of Sheikh Yasser Al-Saleh, in the condolences of the late Wadih George Wassouf, sparked a state of controversy, after he had recited the Qur’an, at the request of the great artist George Wassouf, who appeared affected while listening to the recitation.
With the growing controversy, the artist George Wassouf converted to Islam, after 8 years of chasing him by asking about his religion.
Artist George Wassouf, during his appearance in 2014, on the program “Say Ya Malak”, with the journalist Nishan, he said, “My wife is Um Wadih, a Sunni Muslim.”
In response to his request to present Christian hymns, the great artist said, “I know the call to prayer, and I memorize the names of God.”
The artist, George Wassouf, is scheduled to receive condolences today, Tuesday, for his late son Wadih, and next Saturday, corresponding to January 14, in the salon of St. Nicholas Church of the Greek Orthodox (Mar Nicola) Ashrafieh, starting from twelve o’clock in the afternoon until six o’clock in the evening.
