Beijing 21 people died in the flood due to heavy rain in Beijing, the capital of China. Heavy rains have started since last Friday following Cyclone Doksuri. In July, the total amount of rain fell in 40 hours. About 850,000 people were displaced in Hebei province around Beijing. 26 people are missing. Many roads and buildings were destroyed. The city received 744.8 mm of rain till Wednesday. The region recorded the heaviest rainfall in 140 years. President Xi Jinping has directed the authorities to intensify rescue operations.
