Beirut Arab International Book Fair Seminars and signatures, most notably by Siniora and a poetry evening | culture

Beirut Arab International Book Fair, in its 63rd session, which started yesterday, Thursday, under the patronage and presence of Prime Minister Najib Mikati, started its activities and cultural program with a number of seminars and signatures, the most prominent of which was the signature of President Fouad Siniora of his two books issued by the Arab Book House: The first entitled “The State’s Public Finance between Politicization and Misinformation.” The second is entitled: “Lebanese Public Debt Accumulation and Negative Effects” in the Arab Cultural Club’s pavilion at the exhibition, in the presence and participation of various political and cultural figures who unanimously agreed on the importance of the return of the Beirut Arab International Book Fair and the return of the unbreakable spirit to Beirut.

The Arab Cultural Club also organized an evening entitled “I knew Beirut,” a dialogue of music and poetry presented to it by the Secretary of the Arab Cultural Club, Nermin Al-Khansa, in which the composer and opera singer, Dr. Heba Al-Qawas, who sang and played the piano, sang a group of her songs that mimic Beirut and concluded with a passage from the poem “I knew.” Beirut”.

The evening was attended by the poet Zahi Wehbe, who presented and read a number of his poems about Beirut, love and the homeland, concluding with the poems “Blessed are the lovers”, “Russian doll” and “My mother”.

In today’s exhibition, a symposium and discussion of the book “The Brief Literature Forum” was held, in which Tamara Al-Dhib, Dr. Doria Farhat, Dr. Basil Al-Zein, Dr. Kamel Saleh, Dr. Wajih Fanous, Dr. Elias Zughaib, Hana Al-Hajj and the owner of Nelson House Suleiman Bakhti participated.

After the symposium, Dr. Doria Farhat and Tamara Al-Dhib signed the book, and Sheikh Dr. Tariq Al-Lahham signed his book entitled “Explanation of the Muslim Creed”.

Dr. Maha Aziza Sultan also signed her book entitled “Art in Lebanon – From Mandate to Independence (1920-1943) at the Arab Cultural Club’s pavilion.

Writer Ismat Mahiou Toukan also signed her book titled “These Young People Teach Me” in the wing of Abaad House. Writer Uday Lazy also signed his book titled “Tesla’s Last Cry.”

As for the writer Zainab Fayyad, her novel “The Weather is Suitable for Death” was signed in the Zaman House suite.

Writer Yvonne Al Dayaa signed her book “The Last What God Said to Me” in the pavilion of the Green Football Forum Abdullah Shehadeh, and writer Micheline Mubarak signed her book “I am Beirut” also in the pavilion of the Green Koura Forum Abdullah Shehadeh.

Saturday’s activity includes the following:

{The plastic artist and cartoonist, Dalal Al-Ezzi Al-Qaisi, will sign her book entitled “The Snake Female” from six to eight in the evening in the cultural club pavilion.

{The Creative Complex House is organizing a signing ceremony for a group of short stories and a novel entitled “Pritium” from five thirty until seven thirty in the evening, in the cultural club pavilion.

Organization of a poetry evening entitled “On the Path of Poetry from Tripoli to Beirut” with the participation of: Dr. Wedad Al-Ayoubi, Zain Al-Din Deeb, Dr. Riad Obeid, Professor Saad Al-Din Shalak and the guest of honor: Dr. Yousra Al-Bitar and presented by: Poet Mireille Shehadeh.

The Beirut Bikar Ensemble organizes a traditional evening evening entitled “Roots” presented by journalist Maryam Majdoleen Al-Lahham, from 6:30 to 7:30 in Hall A.

Writer and media personality Stephanie Oweni signs her book entitled “I loved a violinist.”
