Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makey died on Saturday, as did the state news agency Belta reported. The agency reported a “sudden death” on Saturday, without giving further details. In international diplomatic circles there was talk of a heart attack. Makej was 64 years old. The diplomat had been foreign minister under President Alexander Lukashenko since 2012, and he graduated from the Diplomatic Academy in Vienna in 1992-93.
