Belfius bank has decided to deactivate the service Car-Pay Diem for Lukoil petrol pumps from this Tuesday.
This service, directly available in the Belgian bank’s application, allows you to pay for your full tank of fuel via your phone. The bank specifies that this decision only concerns the stations of the Russian oil giant Lukoil. This measure should affect approximately 1,500 customers.
Belfius explains that this decision had already been decided before Russia invaded Ukraine because the oil group did not meet the bank’s sustainable development strategy criteria. The outbreak of war in Eastern Europe therefore accelerated the shutdown of this feature.
