On Friday July 21, King Philippe, Queen Mathilde and their four children attended the traditional Te Deum on Friday morning in the Cathedral of Saints Michael and Gudule in Brussels. Several hundred people had gathered outside the religious building to cheer the sovereigns, who were celebrating their ten years of reign, a national holiday.
King Albert II and Queen Paola were also present alongside the reigning sovereigns, but did not take part in the walkregarding that followed the mass.

The annual parade took place at 4:00 p.m., from rue de la Loi to place des Palais. A total of 1,345 men and women from the army and civil society took part. The Army Air Component additionally offered an air show with twenty-seven aircraft, including ten F-16s. The Special Forces were present with a “surprise” demonstration to the King and the public.

Just before the parade, the King posed with Princess Elisabeth and Prince Gabriel. “We didn’t want to deprive you of these photos“, wrote the Royal Palace on Instagram.
