At the request of the national trainer Jacques Borlée, the Belgian Tornados will not be six, but eight, to take part in the World Athletics Championships in Budapest. The information was confirmed Tuesday in Belga by the Athletics League.
The six fastest men of 2023 over 400 meters are, in that order, Dylan Borlee, Alexander Doom, Julien Watrin, Florent Mabille, Robin Vanderbemben et Kevin Borlee. Jacques Borlee wanted to take Jonathan Sacoor et Jonathan Borlee, and Belgian Athletics accepted this. Officially, only six men can be entered, but dividing them between the mixed relay and the men’s 4×400 meters relay, it is possible to enter up to eight athletes. Dylan Borlée and Alexander Doom will compete in the individual 400 meters in Budapest. Julien Watrin will line up for 400 meters hurdles.
Six athletes will be entered in the Belgian Cheetahs : Cynthia Bolingo, Helena Ponette, Naomi Van Den Broeck, Camille Laus, Imke Vervaet in Hanne Claes.
