Search and rescue teams, supported by police drones, have begun excavations in this wooded region, where temperatures are between 5 and 13 degrees at this time of year, which corresponds to the southern winter.

The police invite people who have visited this parking area since June 12 to contact the authorities to report whether the young woman’s car was present there.

The start of this hike in the tropical forest, considered easy, is regarding 4h30 drive from the capital of Tasmania, Hobart, and regarding ten kilometers from the town of Waratah.

A local police press conference is scheduled for Wednesday.
