Belgians had a fatal accident while skiing in Tyrol

A 47-year-old came off the track, hit a tree and then a rock. He lay badly injured. First aid measures were unsuccessful and the man died at the scene of the accident.

Another fatal skiing accident was reported from Tyrol on Thursday: According to a witness statement, a 47-year-old Belgian lost control of his skis in the early afternoon in the St. Anton ski area (Landeck district). He went off the track, hit a tree and a rock. The man was left badly injured. First aid measures by the crew of the emergency helicopter and the piste rescue were unsuccessful, the vacationer died at the scene of the accident.

On Wednesday morning, two 17-year-old Germans died in the Steinplatte ski area in Waidring in Tyrol (Kitzbühel district). They went over the runway and crashed over mountain pastures and meadows that were partly interspersed with stones and barely covered with snow.
