A new area of ​​sometimes temporarily winter precipitation will quickly invade Belgium through France. The rains may in fact be preceded by some snowfall, longer Ardennes. An accumulation of a few centimeters will be possible in the Ardennes, particularly in the morning.

In Lower and Middle Belgium, it will quickly become slushy snow followed by rain.

In the afternoon, we will only find (melting) snow in the Hautes Fagnes. Temperatures will rise slowly to reach 1 degree at the end of the day in the Hautes Fagnes and 4 to 6 degrees in the plains. The wind will be moderate to fairly strong from south to southeast with gusts of 50 to 60 km/h.

Yellow alert for slippery conditions

The Royal Meteorological Institute (IRM) extends its yellow alert for slippery conditions until Monday afternoon in the provinces of Liège and Luxembourg.

“This morning, a new disturbance will reach us via France,” warns the IRM. “We will have to be temporarily wary of a risk of snowfall or slush in the west and along the French border. In Ardennes, especially in the province of Luxembourg, snowfall is expected with an accumulation of 2 at 6 cm on the ground, sometimes making the roads slippery,” he continues.

The yellow warning will be in effect until 5 p.m. in the province of Liège and 4 p.m. in the province of Luxembourg, while in Hainaut, in the provinces of Namur, West Flanders and the Coast, the IRM still calls for vigilance in the morning.
