Below the images – Pink Floyd: whose rainbow is it? – Watch the full show

An anniversary logo celebrates 50 years of Pink Floyd’s ‘The Dark Side of The Moon’ album. Some have seen in this rainbow a reference to the LGBTQ+ flag… Sonia Devillers discusses the symbolic power of this motif in the magazine which analyzes the images of our time.

Published on March 1, 1973, the cover is considered one of the most beautiful album covers. Half a century later, the logo of the anniversary album resumes its main elements: the triangle reminiscent of the luminous prism and the colors of the rainbow. The visual is subject to anachronistic interpretations. The artist Aubrey Powell tells us the story of this cover and this logo. The searcher Free Zuppiroliauthor of a treatise on colorsexplains to us what has always pushed men to appropriate this motif.
