“One reason I started drinking was because I was trapped,” said Ben Affleck 2021 on marriage to his ex-wife Jennifer Garner. “We probably would have been at each other’s throats at some point. I’d probably still be drinking.” Words that the actor later regretted. Garner and Affleck were married from 2005 to 2018.
The two announced the love off in 2015 after ten years of marriage. The two stars have three children together. After the breakup with Garner and before he found his new love in his current relationship with Jennifer Lopez found, the actor dated a much younger man, among other things Playboy-Model named Shauna Sexton. Ben Affleck’s tumultuous romance with Shauna Sexton
The ‘Batman’ actor was first spotted with Sexton in August 2018 when the two appeared to be on a date but tried to keep a low profile. “He’s not happy that there are photos,” a source told at the time AND! News.
The reason for the secrecy: Affleck’s date was almost immediately after his split from the “Saturday Night Live” producer Lindsay Shookus busted, with whom he had been dating intermittently for a while.
Affleck was reportedly attracted to Sexton for a number of reasons. “Ben likes a woman with brains and beauty, but he also likes being free and doing what he wants,” an insider told the actor at the time People. Ex-wife Garner is said to have been anything but enthusiastic about her ex-husband’s love interest at the time. “Obviously she’s not happy that he’s with a 22-year-old Playboy-model is going out,” a friend told the actress Us Weekly. “But she’s not surprised either. Jen expected that from Ben,” the source said.

But the romance was ill-fated for another reason: At the time Affleck started dating Sexton, he was still drinking regularly. He went into rehab just weeks after the romance broke. Affleck’s entourage is said to have hoped he would focus on sobriety rather than dating, but Affleck continued to meet Sexton while he was in outpatient treatment.
Unsurprisingly, the romance was short-lived and rocky. Sexton is said to not have been the best influence on Affleck’s recovery process, as she also loved to party. She herself once said in an interview with the Sun on her alcohol preferences: “I like whiskey soda, which makes people cringe, but I like it.”
During their brief time together, Sexton and Affleck reportedly had arguments over his battle with alcoholism. The actor’s behavior is said to have had a major impact on the model’s mood. “Sometimes he wanted to go out and drink and have girls, and other times he would be totally sober and go to church,” a source close to Sexton said Us Weekly. The model is said to have “marked” her time with Affleck.
Things didn’t go any better with Lindsay Shookus either
After only a few months, the liaison broke up. Ben Affleck and Shauna Sexton split in October 2018. The actor reunited just months later after a stint in rehab Lindsay Shookus together.
The actor first dated the TV producer in 2017, a few months after Garner filed for divorce. But this relationship was also turbulent. Shookus doesn’t do anything about his booze and likes to drink, insiders slammed when Affleck started dating her. He’s pretty much free to fool around with her because Shookus is even the one urging her to leave.
About a year later, the couple separated for the first time. Affleck temporarily comforted himself with Sexton before he and Shookus got back together in early 2019. In April of the same year, the two finally drew the line.
