Dr. Mohamed Hany said, Governor of Beni SuefAbout 20 companies export 40% of the governorate’s production of medicinal and aromatic plants, and there are about 68 factories and presses for medicinal and aromatic plants in the governorate.
The Governor of Beni Suef added that the governorate is one of the most important governorates in the production and cultivation of aromatic and medicinal plants at the level of the Republic, where an area of 13,303 acres is cultivated with medicinal and aromatic plants from the lands cultivated at the level of the governorate, and the total cultivated areas for medicinal and aromatic plants reach about 37% of the cultivated area.
The governor pointed out that one of the most important crops for medicinal and aromatic plants in Beni Suef governorate is the perfume plant, with a cultivated area of 3,677 acres. The governorate also cultivates green herb parsley on an area of 768 acres, in addition to planting basil on an area of 2230 acres.
