Ciudad Juárez.- Since the giraffe “Benito” will be transferred to Africam Safari in the state of Puebla, dozens of citizens have taken advantage of this weekend to come and say goodbye to the specimen.
During the weekend, families have been seen going to Parque Central Poniente in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, to visit the giraffe and thus take advantage of the last hours they have left in this town.
Some citizens also took the opportunity to give him some foods such as apples, carrots, among others.
It is expected that the transfer of “Benito” to the state of Puebla will be in the next few hours, since in recent days groups such as Somos Su Voz, promoted an amparo where a district judge of the seventh federal court issued a court order to execute the transfer of “Benito” only to the Africam Safari in Puebla.

Within the protection, it is also read that in the event that the authorities involved, in this case, Central Park of Ciudad Juárez, through the Head of the Department of Legal Services of the Secretary of Human Development and Common Good of the State of Chihuahua, do not comply with reporting within 24 hours about the relevant procedures and procedures to carry out the transfer of the giraffe “Benito” to Africam Safari Puebla in the shortest possible time”, a fine of one hundred UMA, equivalent to the amount of $10,374.00 pesos.
Until this Sunday, the giraffe remained in the Central Park in Ciudad Juárez, since at the moment it is not clear how and when the transfer would take place.

After the news of the transfer of the giraffe, the X account “We Save Benito” blamed the governor of Chihuahua, Maru Campos, and the Profepa attorney, Blanca Alicia Mendoza Olvera, for the irregular transfer of Benito to Ciudad Juárez, suffering in the extreme temperatures of the city and his lack of specialized care that he lived for eight months.
“#SalvemosABenito has no party, Benito is not a commodity. Our fight is non-partisan. The truth is that both parties have exhibited their negligence, irresponsibility and arrogance in the face of the case and its defenders,” they wrote on the social network X.
X’s account described the transfer of the giraffe as an animal victory and celebrated the “passport for “Benito” to a better life.”
