Benson Henderson defeated Islam Mammadov

Just in Phoenix (Arizona, USA) in the co-main event of the Bellator 273 tournament, the Russian lightweight Islam Mammadov was defeated by former UFC champion American Benson Henderson.

The duel began in a calm manner, where none of the fighters rushed things. The pace of the fight increased only at the end of the first round. The Russian decided to transfer the fight to the stalls, where he ended up in an uncomfortable position for himself. Henderson attempted a choke hold, but a moment before the end of the round, Mammadov got out of the hold, following which the gong sounded immediately.

In the second half of the fight, both fighters had sharp moments to finish the fight ahead of schedule on the ground, but in the end the fight lasted the entire allotted distance and the victory went to Henderson, who was more active and accurate in his actions, by a separate decision of the judges.
