이번 시즌 UCL에서 11골을 넣으 벤제마는 유럽대항전에서 첼시를 상대로 해트트릭을 기록한 첫 선수이며, 프랑스 선수로는 전신 유러피언컵 시절인 1958-1959시즌 쥐스트 퐁텐 이후 처음으로 단일 시즌 UCL에서 10골 이상을 넣었다.
