Bergerac hospital closes emergency reception for four nights in a row

Be careful if you live near Bergerac (Dordogne). If you need to go to the ER this weekend, you may find yourself in front of a closed door, reports France Blue Perigord.

The emergency room of the Samuel Pozzi hospital will indeed close for four consecutive nights. From this Thursday to Monday April 17 in the morning, emergency care will not be provided from 6 p.m. to 8:30 a.m. The management of the hospital center is indeed reorganizing the reception and staffing that weekend.

Several closures in recent months

To benefit from emergency care, you will therefore first have to contact 15 and talk to an operator. Only this call, mandatory, will then allow access to the service.

This is not the first time that Bergerac hospital has changed its organization, recalls France Blue. At the beginning of March, the emergencies had already closed for three nights, as well as in September 2022, for lack of sufficient staff to receive patients.
