After the death of a Berlin teenager at a football tournament in Hesse, the preliminary autopsy result is available.

The 15-year-old died as a result of blunt force trauma to the left side of the head, Frankfurt chief prosecutor Nadja Niesen told rbb on Tuesday. However, further forensic-toxicological investigations would be carried out. First had the “B.Z.” reported.

On Pentecost Sunday, there was a dispute between players from the JFC Berlin team and the French U17 team from FC Metz at an international football tournament in Frankfurt am Main.

The 15-year-old was attacked from behind by a 16-year-old. The alleged perpetrator is in custody. If the youth is convicted of bodily harm resulting in death, he faces a prison sentence of up to ten years.

At many football games at the weekend – including the DFB Cup final, the 21 state cup finals and all the games in Berlin football – there were visible signs of sympathy and moments of silence.
