Best Actor: Jury Debate | Best Actor: Argument in Jury

Thiruvananthapuram: There was a strong debate in the final round for the Best Actor award. Biju Menon, Joju George, Indrans and Fahad Fazil were in the final round.

The jury unanimously ruled that Fahad did not live up to expectations in ‘Joji’ directed by Dileesh Pothen. Indrans’ performance in Vijay Babu’s’ Home ‘was often said to be exaggerated.

With this, the match was between Biju Menon and Jojo. The eighth jury did not disagree with Biju Menon’s award for his performance in ‘Who Knows’, but the jury chairman, Syed Akhtar Mirza, objected to Jojo’s omission. Jojo’s films include Hunting, Sweets, Port, and Freedom Fight.

Following the controversy, the jury decided to share the Best Actor award. The final jury was hotly debated over the selection of winners in several categories. As the members were not ready to compromise, voting was required to select the winners at various stages.
