In-ear headphones can be a problem when you have small ears, as they end up falling out. Of course, this has a great chance of being alleviated if you know how to correctly position your headphones, as we show in this tutorial, in addition to choosing the correct ear tip (“tip” or “rubber”), as we covered in the article on “what are ear tips and how to use them”. However, there are in-ear earbud formats that are more “friendly” to fit securely in the ear canal, even though it is small.

Called from “bullets”, the cylindrical-shaped in-ears got their nickname due to the fact that they resemble the shape of a bullet. For the vast majority of users, this format provides an excellent level of comfort, even if you have small ears, with a smaller than average ear canal. With this in mind, we looked for the best models with the best cost-benefit in their price ranges.

Unlike the Final Audio E1000, which has a sound signature that leans more toward a warm sound, with more pronounced bass, its smaller brother, the Final Audio E500, has a more neutral sound. The comfort of the E500 is the same as that of the E1000, which is provided not only by the “bullet” design, but also due to the quality of the Final Audio Type E ear tips, which in addition to being praised by many , are as comfortable as the famous “Sony hybrid” (EP-EX11).

2 – Final Audio STUDY1 (US$ 20 ou R$ 113)

According to Final Audio, the STUDY1 was developed for those who want to use headphones to study. Its tuning was designed with the clarity of voices in mind, to make it easier to understand what is being said, without having to struggle to identify speeches in different languages, for example. Due to its great comfort, it is possible to stay for hours without feeling any pain in your ears.

3 – Tanchjim One (US$ 21 ou R$ 118)

The Tanchjim One doesn’t have excessive bass, its midrange is sweet and the treble has a good shine, without being shrill. Due to a drop in high bass, male voices may sound lower than they should, but female voices can be pleasant. Its soundstage is honest, not impressive, but it doesn’t leave anything to be desired, especially considering the price.

With two cables in the box, one with a 3.5mm plug and the other with a USB-C plug, the Tanchjim One allows the user to connect it to a wide variety of devices. Furthermore, the fact that the cable is removable allows for a longer useful life, because when one of the cables has poor contact, you will simply need to buy another one to replace it.

4 – Final Audio E3000 (US$ 26 ou R$ 146)

With more bass, the E3000 has a presentation that leans more towards “warm”. However, this does not mean that its mids and highs are bad, as you will notice that there is still a good presence, leaving the sound coherent across all tracks. Adding its comfort to a pleasant sound, the E3000 can please many.

5 – Etymotic ER2SE (US$92 in the USA or R$735 in Brazil)

Etymotic headphones are considered one of the most neutral on the market. In the ER2SE model this is no exception and you will find an extremely correct sound, as well as great comfort, if you adapt the triple flange ear tips.

Another interesting point to comment on is the extreme passive isolation of the ER2SE, where external noise will hardly interfere with the sound, even in very noisy environments. Furthermore, the phone has removable cables, allowing the user to change them if there is poor contact.

6 – Etymotic ER2XR (US$ 100 or R$ 854 in Brazil)

The “XR” version of the Etymotic ER2 basically takes the qualities of the “SE” version and adds a bit more bass, making the sound a little more “fun”. The comfort and isolation are the same, as the structure is the same. Furthermore, you can only change the cable if it makes poor contact due to the use of the MMCX connection.
