According to the results of a survey of football players of Premier League clubs, which is held annually by SE, the best player of the last championship was recognized as the Brazilian legionnaire of Zenit, who won the race of scorers of the tournament with 23 goals.

Malcolm extended a successful streak Zenit, whose representatives have been ranked first for five years in a row. In the 2018/19 and -2019/20 seasons, colleagues chose Artem Dzyuba, in the 2020/21 season – Serdar Azmun, and in the 2021/22 season – Claudinho.

In total, the blue-white-blues have a record nine wins in the poll. In addition to the already named players, Andrey Arshavin (2006), Konstantin Zyryanov (2007), Danny (2010) and Hulk (2014/15) were named the best players in the championship. Seven titles are in the asset of the Spartak team, five each of the railway workers and the army team, three of Krasnodar, one each of Dynamo and Rubin.

344 Malcolm points – the sixth result in the history of the survey. Only three representatives of Spartak scored more – Dmitry Alenichev (1997, 460 points), Yegor Titov (2000, 400), Viktor Onopko (1993, 380), as well as two from Loko – Dmitry Loskov (2002, 402) and Alexey Smertin (1999, 377). The previous Zenit record – 322 points – was set by Arshavin in 2006.

Malcolm took first place in the voting of 13 of the 16 Premier League teams. He was most highly rated in Zenit (32 points out of 33 possible), Torch (32) and Pari NN (31).

Quincy Promes, who, by the way, was mentioned by representatives of all clubs, expectedly won the vote in Spartak. Fedor Chalov received points from fifteen (without just red and white), Dziuba – from ten, Eduard Spertsyan and Ivan Oblyakov – from nine.

Curiously, the only Zenit player who gave two points to Malcolm was Vyacheslav Karavaev, who named Mikhail Kerzhakov as the best. The Brazilian himself, by tradition, put himself in first place, including Promes and Claudinho in the top three.

“Russia is blue-white-blue!” Malcolm: interview of the best RPL player

The 26-year-old striker is not the only one in the Premier League who values himself above everyone else. CSKA player Willian Rocha, Krasnodar players Sergey Volkov and John Cordoba, as well as Mateo Stamatov from Orenburg did not find any competitors. And only the Colombian forward of the “bulls” did not have his own voice.

Mentioned in the top three and last year’s poll winner Claudinho. True, on the second line – between Malcolm and Promes. However, this was not enough for the overall success. In the overall standings, the Brazilian remained seventh. Andrey Mostovoy and Timofey Margasov from Sochi gave themselves one point each.

Promes took second place, 226 points behind the leader. There have not been such large gaps in voting results since 2003, when Loskov overtook Loko teammate Sergei Ovchinnikov by 255 points. For the Spartak Dutchman, this is the third hit in the top 3. In the 2015/16 season, he lost to Fedor Smolov and Hulk, and in the 2016/17 championship for the red and white draw, he lost only to Smolov.

According to the results of the survey, the best of the Russians was Chalov, who closed the top three. The last time the first two places in the voting went to legionnaires in the 2014/15 season, when the holder of a Finnish passport, Roman Eremenko, finished behind the Brazilian Hulk. The third then, by the way, also became a foreigner – the Portuguese Danny.

The laureates of previous years were not left without mention. In addition to the already named Claudinho (24 points, 7th place), Dziuba (number one-2018/19 and -2019/20) was noted – 31 points and Igor Akinfeev (2012/13) – eight. But the three-time winner of the award (2015/16, 2016/17, 2017/18) Smolov did not make the list this time.

Seven respondents at once managed to name the top three in the correct order – Malcolm, Promes, Chalov. The collective opinion was guessed by Pari NN goalkeeper Nikita Goylo, Rostovites Nikolai Komlichenko and Alexander Silyanov, Sochi striker Georgy Melkadze, Ural midfielder Fanil Sungatulin, Khimki midfielder Janiu Bikel and CSKA defender Moizes.
