The former head of the ministerial cabinet, Betssy Chávez, affirmed that she would support her predecessor in office, Aníbal Torres, if the latter decided to run in the general elections. However, she did not mention if she would do it as part of a potential presidential pushup.
In an exclusive dialogue with Punto Final, the former premier maintained that she will continue to participate in politics, since “the politician is for life.” However, she maintained that she “does not aspire” to be president of the Republic.
“I am going to support Dr. Aníbal Torres, without a doubt in an upcoming electoral feat. I don’t know if on his plate, but to support him, genuinely, because Pedro Castillo has asked me to and I have to comply with what the president has asked me to do, ”he specified.
Chávez Chino did not clarify whether this possible application would be made through a new political party. “We have not spoken with Dr. Aníbal Torres, we have procedural measures of restrictions to be able to communicate. He would go in the lead,” he noted.
“DINA BOLUARTE HAS NEVER BEEN MY FRIEND”
The suspended congresswoman also revealed that the President of the Republic, Dina Boluarte, “was never her friend.” In addition, she specified that, during the campaign in the 2021 elections, Boluarte “never participated” and that she only appeared in the second round.
It should be remembered that Dina Boluarte left the Ministry of Development and Social Inclusion after Chávez Chino took office. The current president assumed said position from the beginning of the Government of Pedro Castillo.
“I think we started from different principles. I would not join Renovación Popular and Fuerza Popular to govern,” Chavez said when asked about the political orientation of the head of state.
