The teachers are not taking off. After parading through the streets of Brussels, Liège and Mons, they will be out once more this Thursday morning in the center of Namur.
The demands are numerous: to review the teacher evaluation system deemed inadequate, to take concrete measures to avoid overcrowding in classes. The demonstrators also denounce a workload outside of school hours which is only increasing. These are in particular the consequences of the reforms which oblige teachers to review their courses and of what is called the piloting plan. The latter sets objectives for schools to achieve; its usefulness is also questioned. The rationalization of options in qualifying education is finally singled out and raises fears of job losses.
The procession will leave around 11 a.m. from rue des Bourgeois. He will then borrow the boulevard Cauchy, avenue Comte de Smet de Nayer, the rroundregarding of the Echasseurs, the boulevard Isabelle Brunellthe Phave from Franceand rond-Point du Grognon, rue Bord de l’Eau and finally rue Saintraint. Dislocation is scheduled at Place Saint-Aubain around 1:00 p.m. The police are already planning disturbances from 9 a.m. near the station. The traffic of cars but also of buses is likely to be severely disrupted.
