After Beyond The Black have made an almost meteoric rise in recent years, the band has delighted us with their fifth studio album.

This time it is a self titled Album where you can expect all sorts of playful melodies and catchy refrains on ten songs.

Nice thing to start the year with

And already the opener Is There Anybody Out Thereone yourself HERE can listen to does what you expect from the album. Rocky verses alternate with refrains that invite you to sway along. The whole thing is garnished with one or the other solo and vocally, you can’t criticize anything anyway. But there are also various elements that add a bit more variety to the album. For example, at Reincarnationthe HERE is already online, the folk club unpacked while Free Me slows down in terms of tempo, leaving room for a ballad filled with the finest bombast.

Something for everyone

Winter Is Coming Overall it sounds more typical for the band with the usual rock and melodic elements. The habits are repeatedly broken with individual titles, such as the ballad, which is mostly acoustic Wide Awake or probably the most anthem-worthy number Dancing In The Darkwho it HERE already exists. at Not in Our Name there are also a few growls scattered throughout.

Conclusion
Beyond The Black
ensure a good start into the new year. The album convinces with ten strong songs without any weaknesses worth mentioning. The outstanding hit, which was already part of the previous releases, is probably missing this time. Definitely worth a look for fans of the band and those who like to rummage around in the melodic area. 8 / 10
