Biden and Scholz intend to continue the sanctions course against Russia

On March 3, US President Joe Biden met with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in Washington. The White House released a report on the politicians’ talks, which explains that the leaders discussed the “costs placed on Russia” due to the entry of troops into Ukraine.

“They reaffirmed their commitment to bear the cost of Russia’s aggression for as long as necessary,” reads a press release on website White House. The heads of state also discussed further support for Ukraine and ensuring its security.

Western allies of Ukraine regularly declare their intention to support the Ukrainian side for as long as it takes. On March 2, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken informed Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov regarding this.
