Biden arrives in Japan… After the summit, the quad meeting will be attended

After visiting Korea, President Joe Biden, who visited Japan, his next destination, will hold a summit meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida on the 23rd to discuss measures to contain China.

The Ukraine crisis, North Korea’s nuclear program, and ways to improve relations between Korea and Japan are also expected to be on the agenda.

President Biden said that it is important for South Korea, the US and Japan to maintain a very close economic and military tripartite relationship with respect to Korea-Japan relations, and that he would discuss improving relations between Korea and Japan during his visit to Japan.

President Biden today announced the official launch of the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework (IPEF) led by the United States.

IPEF is an economic partnership in the Asia-Pacific region for the US to keep China in check in the global supply chain, digital economy, and renewable energy fields. At the summit announcing the launch of the IPEF, President Yun Seok-yeol will also attend via video.

President Biden will return to Korea tomorrow after attending the Quad Summit, a security consultative body formed by the United States, Japan, Australia and India.
