Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir said he had not heard US President Joe Biden accuse a Saudi prince of the brutal murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi. He was present at the meeting of the two leaders. This was reported by the correspondent of the channel from the White House pool, Jackie Heinrich, citing Fox News.

“He [министр иностранных дел Саудовской Аравии Адель аль-Джубейр] pointedly stated that he “did not hear” that [президент США Джо] Biden spoke [наследному принцу Саудовской Аравии Мухаммеду] bin Salman that he is guilty of the murder of Khashoggi, ”Heinrich wrote on Twitter (blocked in the Russian Federation). He noted that the Kingdom’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Adel al-Jubeir, was present at the meeting between Biden and the prince of Saudi Arabia.

Earlier it was reported that US leader Joe Biden told Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud that he held him responsible for the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, who was dismembered in 2018.

Jamal Khashoggi was killed following he came to the Consulate General in Istanbul for documents confirming the divorce. Later, the city prosecutor’s office stated that the correspondent was killed and his body was dismembered. It was reported that body fragments were found in a well at the Consulate General of Saudi Arabia in Istanbul. During the investigation into the disappearance of Khashoggi 18 people were detained.
