Biden: Xi Jinping told me that in the 21st century democracy is unsustainable and autocracy will dominate the world

According to the US Newsweek (Newsweek) report on the 27th, US President Biden said in a speech to the graduates of the US Naval Academy: “We are experiencing a global confrontation between autocracy and democracy.” He also revealed that the night he was elected president, the mainland President Xi Jinping told him by phone that democracy “is not sustainable” and that one day “dictatorship will rule the world”.

The U.S. Naval Academy is located in Annapolis, Maryland. Biden pointed out in his speech: “Compared to other leaders, I have met with Xi Jinping quite a few times. When he called me on the night of the election, he mentioned that What he has said many times before. He claims that in the 21st century democracy is “unsustainable and dictatorship will rule the world”, why? The situation has changed suddenly, democracy needs consensus and it takes time, but you are out of time”.

Biden continued: “Xi Jinping is wrong, prospective officers here, when you sail into this world, you will not only be proud of being a part of the US military, but also the representatives and defenders of our democracy.” He explained: “It sounds a little bit. Old-fashioned, but that’s actually our democracy, and that’s why you’re proclaiming not to me, your commander-in-chief, or any political leader, but the U.S. Constitution, and our country has high hopes for you.”

The report alleged that Biden and Xi have often fought tit-for-tat over foreign policy, as U.S. leaders embrace democracy and Xi advocates autocracy. Biden reiterated on the 27th that he is convinced that democracy will eventually prevail over authoritarian countries like mainland China and Russia. Biden used Ukraine as an example to support his statement and said that when Russian President Vladimir Putin intended to Finnish the whole of Europe and force countries to remain neutral, Putin’s move actually turned Europe into NATO.

After Russia invaded Ukraine, many countries sanctioned Russia and supported Ukraine with military and humanitarian assistance. Although Russia’s most powerful ally is China, there are actually very few Russian allies. Outlining the three-month-long war that broke out, many countries assisted Ukraine and the sanctions against Russia, Biden emphasized: “We are not on the basis of geography – east and west, the Pacific and the Atlantic, but values.”

Biden also said: “American leadership relies not only on the display of national strength, but also on the influence of leading by example, think about why most countries are willing to support us.” “The most powerful weapon you will use is our unparalleled global alliance, and the power of our partnership,” he told the graduates.
