The confrontation was avoided in front of the Tissot Arena in Biel, during the hockey playoffs. Before the third match of the quarter-finals between HC Bienne and CP Bern (2-0 in the series), the French travelers who arrived on March 5 left the VIP car park of HC Bienne, as they had promised. .
A dumpster made available by the Biel road network was filled with bags of garbage on Saturday afternoon. The illegal occupation of the parking lot had irritated the leaders of the hockey club, but also the tenants of the Tissot Arena shopping center. The destination of the caravans is not known.
In exchange for their departure, the director of social action and security Beat Feurer promised to commit himself within the Municipal Council for the rapid creation of a temporary transit area. In the Jura arc, the Neuchâtel Council of State has decided to open next Monday the provisional cantonal site of Pré Raguel, at La Vue-des-Alpes, intended for European nomadic communities.
