The shell of the building was completely engulfed in flames on Thursday night, according to the fire department. Flames were coming from several sides of the building. The enormous heat also caused massive damage to a construction site vehicle and a crane. No one was harmed in the fire.
It was only on Monday that the entrance area of the facility briefly burned. This fire was also set intentionally, the police said. It now needs to be clarified whether there is a connection between the fires.
Fires in daycare center again
There had already been a fire in the daycare center last week – and there was also a fire in the facility in November 2023. At that time, the entire upper floor of the shell of the building was burned out.

In addition, anti-Israel and pro-Palestinian writing was discovered on the outside wall at the time. According to the police, the daycare provider has no connection to the Jewish faith or the state of Israel.
State security is investigating
Bielefeld State Security has been investigating since the first fire in November 2023. Because of the writing, a politically motivated act cannot be ruled out. The police state security always investigates crimes that have a possible political connection.
