A person found himself under a metro train in Brussels-Central, shortly following 5 p.m., said the Stib and the Brussels firefighters. The victim survived and was taken to hospital, according to federal police. It was a suicide attempt, according to police sources. Metro traffic was interrupted between the Beekkant and Arts-Loi stops on lines 1 and 5 for more than an hour and a half. Buses 29, 38, 63, 65, 66, 71 also no longer stopped at Central Station, but have now resumed. Anyone with suicidal thoughts can contact the Suicide Prevention Center helpline on 0800 32 123 (it is anonymous, free and available 24 hours a day). More info on www.preventionsuicide.be.
