Big movies are getting OTT release in June. Judd Anthony’s mega hit ‘2018’ and Cameron’s ‘Avatar 2’ were the first to reach the list. ‘2018’ released on Sony Liv and ‘Avatar 2’ on Disney plus Hotstar on June 7. Action entertainer Extraction 2, Pichaikaran 2, The Kerala Story and Custody are other films that will hit OTT in June.
2018: June 7: Sony Livv
Directed by Jude Anthony Joseph, the film stars Tovino Thomas, Asif Ali and Kunchacko Boban in lead roles. The film collected more than 150 crores at the box office and became one of the biggest hits of all time in Malayalam. Naren, Lal, Vineeth Srinivasan, Sudheesh, Aju Varghese, Aparna Balamurali, Tanvi Ram, Sivada and Gautami Nair are the other actors.
Avatar 2: June 7: Disney Plus Hotstar
Avatar: The Way of Water is slated to release in December 2022. The film grossed around $2.32 billion at the global box office. It is the highest grossing film in the history of world cinema.
After six months of its release, the film will reach OTT. The Way of Water is a sequel to Avatar released thirteen years ago. The film follows the subsequent lives of the Sully family on Pandora, consisting of Jake, Neytiri and their children.
Extraction 2: June 16: Netflix
Big budget film directed by stunt choreographer Sam Hargrave. Chris Hemsworth himself will play the central role in the sequel to Extraction released in 2020. Golshifteh Farahani, Adam Bessa, and Daniel Bernhardt play the other main characters.
The Kerala Story: June 23: Netflix
The film became a controversy all over India. Written and directed by Sudeepto Sen, the film stars Adah Sharma, Yogita Bihani, Sonia Balani and Siddhi Idnani.
Pichaikaran 2: June 17: Hotstar
The film is being produced by Fatima Vijay Antony under the banner of Vijay Antony Film Corporation and Vijay himself is doing the editing and music direction. Kavya Thapar, Dato Radha Ravi, YG Mahendran, Mansoor Ali Khan, Harish Peradi, John Vijay, Dev Gill and Yogi Babu are also lined up in the film. It is a sequel to the 2016 film Pichaikaran.
