On Monday afternoon, two people on bicycles collided head-on in the Langstrasse bicycle tunnel. A woman (56) was seriously injured in the head.

According to the Zurich city police, at around 3:30 p.m. a 56-year-old woman was cycling from Limmatplatz in the Langstrassen bicycle tunnel on the side of Hardbrücke station in the direction of Helvetiaplatz. A 43-year-old cyclist came towards her. For reasons that are still unclear, the two collided head-on. The woman suffered serious head injuries.

The paramedics from Protection & Rescue Zurich went to the scene of the accident to provide first aid and then took the woman to the hospital. The cyclist involved suffered minor injuries and received medical treatment on site.

The Zurich city police are investigating the course of the accident and called in the accident technical service to secure evidence.
