A nearly $1 billion settlement has been reached between the victims’ families and insurers after a house collapse that killed nearly 100 people. This was reported by the “Wall Street Journal” on Wednesday, citing a court hearing. In June 2021, a 12-story building collapsed in the town of Surfside near Miami Beach, Florida. Rescue workers had to search for the remains of the victims in the rubble for more than a month afterwards.
