Biotechnology is the present and the future of medicine, say researchers from the UNAM Institute of Biotechnology; They are already working on solving immediate problems in terms of chronic diseases, new viruses, among others.
Dr. Leonor Pérez Martínez, head of the Department of Molecular Medicine, specified that through plants and bacteria, Mexico might resolve issues such as the shortage of medicines worldwide.
Within the framework of the 40th anniversary of the IBT, they hold a symposium in which national researchers participate to publicize the work carried out on the subject.
