Bitcoin adds 1.5% to its value in a week .. it exceeded 40.4 thousand dollars

The price of the cryptocurrency Bitcoin rose 0.1 percent to $40,449, according to data compiled by Bloomberg News yesterday.
Bitcoin prices fluctuated by an average of 1 percent, trading between $40,302 and $40,696.
The now popular cryptocurrency is down 41 percent from its November 10 high of $68,992.
Bitcoin added 1.5 percent to its value in the past week and is down 13 percent so far this year.
This comes at a time when US technology companies Block and Blockstream are preparing to launch a fully solar-powered bitcoin mining center next June, as part of a new effort to reduce the cost of cryptocurrency mining and make the process more environmentally friendly.
Adam Back, CEO of Blockstream, said recently, “The Block Electronic Payment Group, formerly known as Square, and Blockstream, a blockchain company, have invested six million dollars in the project, which is expected to produce about 0.1 bitcoin per day.”
Blockstream revealed that the center will be located in West Texas and will be equipped with solar panels and batteries from Tesla.
“A lot of people have talked about this theory, and we thought that we should try it in practice, so that we have actual data that people can see and use and rely on,” Buck added.
“The goal is to demonstrate that mining can help finance renewable energy facilities, more than just Bitcoin,” he noted.
According to Buck, the logic is that the bitcoin mining center uses the excess energy from renewable energy generation facilities, while the main portion of the electricity is for household consumption.
