Bitcoin prices fluctuated with an average of 1.8 percent, trading between 42 thousand and 123 dollars and 42 thousand and 867 dollars.
It is now down 39 percent from its November 10 high of $68,992.
Bitcoin has lost 8.8 percent of its value in the past week and is down 8.8 percent so far this year.
