Chennai: A complaint has been filed demanding removal of the anti-woman reference in the trailer of Vijay’s new film ‘Leo’. An organization called Hindumakkal Iyakam filed a complaint with the Chennai City Police Commissioner. The demand is to remove the dialogue spoken by Vijay’s character.
The organization accused the society of sending a wrong message to the society by using bad language against women in the film. The trailer of Leo was released two days ago.
Some criticisms are also being raised against the trailer which has been well received. The criticism pointed out that Vijay used a bad word during the conversation with Trisha in the trailer.
BJP has also come out against Leo. BJP state vice-president Tirupathi Narayanan strongly protested against the dialogue and demanded that the dialogue be removed from the trailer and the film.
On the day the Leo trailer was released, Makkal Arazial party leader Rajeshwari Priya also came to the scene with allegations. The misogynistic dialogue comes at 1.46 minutes of the trailer.
When the trailer was released the other day, there was a lot of destruction in the theater in Chennai due to the jubilation of the fans. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the film will hit the theaters on 19. Leo also has the distinction that the new film is coming in the background of Vijay getting ready to enter politics.
