A black bear has kept several wildlife hunters on their toes at a Walt Disney theme park. Several attractions had to be closed during the bear hunt.

In the US state of Florida, a black bear caused the closure of several attractions at the Disney World theme park. This is reported by the US media “NBC News”, citing Disney World and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC). The organization’s wildlife hunters were busy catching the black bear in the Orlando resort’s Magic Kingdom on Monday.

Magic Kingdom, known for its landmark Cinderella Castle, is one of the four theme parks, along with two water parks, at Walt Disney World near Orlando.

“In most cases, it is best for bears to be given space and to move around on their own, but given the situation, staff are working to capture and relocate the bear,” wildlife hunters told NBC News. The bear was apparently looking for food before the time for its hibernation began. He is said to have been spotted in a tree.

Long waiting times during bear hunting

Magic Kingdom attractions temporarily closed included Big Thunder Mountain Railroad roller coaster, Hall of Presidents multimedia presentation, Liberty Square Riverboat, A Pirate’s Adventure and more, according to NBC News popular attractions of the park. An app for visitors to the park is said to have shown long waiting times for the individual attractions during the bear hunt.

It was only on Monday afternoon that Walt Disney World announced that some attractions would be reopening while the search for the bear continued. At around 1 p.m. local time, a helicopter, in collaboration with the US media, is said to have taken photos over the park, which indicate that the bear was carried out of the park by officials in a white tarpaulin. However, there is no official statement from Walt Disney.
