Sad news for Guinean sport with the disappearance this morning of the former Guinean basketball player and sports doctor, Doctor Aboubacar Gueye, better known by the nickname “Dr Goose”.
This Sunday April 30, 2023 at the Ignace Deen hospital where he had been admitted to the emergency room since yesterday Saturday at 1 p.m., Aboubacar Gueye passed away.
As a reminder, this eminent Doctor who is one of the precursors of the profession in Guinea, was the doctor of the various Guinean national teams in all disciplines, in particular the famous Hafia of the years 1975. He notably experienced the triumphs of the African champion in 1972 , 1975 and 1977.
He was also the captain of Syli Basket and was the president of the FIBA medical committee.
Rest in the soul of the illustrious deceased.
