Blacknut has brought its cloud gaming service to TiVo OS. The integration gives users access to more than 1,000 games directly through compatible smart TVs—including hardware from brands like Sharp, Metz, and Thomson—without requiring a dedicated console or local downloads.
Bridging the Living Room Gap Without Local Hardware
For households operating on “Powered by TiVo” devices, the platform update aims to streamline the transition between traditional video media and interactive entertainment. Users can access Blacknut’s extensive catalog directly from the television’s native interface. The service sits side-by-side with existing movies, TV shows, sports broadcasts, and streaming applications.
Users still need to sync a compatible controller to manage input latency and gameplay mechanics.
Expanding the Software Ecosystem Across Global Markets
This deployment builds upon Blacknut’s existing footprint, which already spans more than 100 million smart TVs globally through partnerships with manufacturers such as Samsung, LG, Philips, Hisense, Toshiba, JVC, CHiQ, and Medion. Operating across more than 65 countries, the service functions via an all-you-can-play subscription model.
The platform architecture supports up to five distinct player profiles and up to four controllers simultaneously. This multi-user capacity positions the app for both solo sessions and local multiplayer environments.
Catalog Depth and Industry Positioning
Blacknut’s library covers a broad spectrum of software genres, ranging from family-friendly titles and indie releases to major blockbuster adventures and action games. Confirmed titles available through the service include Just Cause 4, Overcooked! 2, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, NBA 2K23, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, and Star Wars: Outlaws, alongside Art of Fighting 2.
Executives from both companies frame the partnership as a natural evolution in consumer media consumption. Olivier Avaro, CEO of Blacknut, highlighted that today’s audiences want to step directly inside incredible worlds rather than just watch them, achieving console-quality experiences without additional hardware. Stephane David, senior director, content partnerships and business development at TiVo, added that the collaboration extends the platform’s core promise beyond traditional video content, consolidating entertainment discovery into a single interface.
