Fatal Collision in Western France Claims PR Executive and Film Producer
The luxury fashion and film communities are mourning the sudden deaths of Mathilde Favier, the head of public relations for Dior, and her husband, prominent French film producer Nicolas Altmayer. According to the Niort regional prosecutor’s office, the couple died on August 17 when their vehicle collided with an oncoming truck while attempting to pass another car in western France.

Altmayer built a celebrated career in cinema, producing notable works including the cult comedy Brice de Nice and La Conquête, a political thriller detailing the rise of former French President Nicolas Sarkozy. Paying tribute to the late producer, French Culture Minister Catherine Pegar remembered Altmayer as an acute-eyed producer capable of combining popular comedy and auteur ambition with the same precision, while praising Favier for embodying the greatness of France in another form, that of fashion and luxury.
Bernard Arnault, chairman of Dior parent company LVMH, also honored Favier’s legacy, stating through the brand’s official Instagram account that she devoted much of her time, passion, energy, and talent to Dior.

I was looking forward to meeting you again in Paris to celebrate together, which makes this farewell even harder. Rest in peace. I will never forget you. Jisoo
