Blizzard is just presenting the new features of Season 6 of Battlegrounds mode which will begin next week. On the program, the arrival of spells, new servants and much more. Find all the new features in detail below!
Season 6 of Battlegrounds mode, Spellcasting Saloon, is coming at full speed. The spellcasting saloon is teeming with magic! Head there for a preview of what awaits you in Update 28.2.
New mechanic: spells in the tavern
In the saloon, spells flow freely, and it is possible to buy them directly in the tavern! Like minions, spells are subject to tavern levels, but their costs vary! Spells benefit from their own frames displaying their cost and tavern level.
Update 28.2 welcomes 42 new spells across 6 tavern levels! Each time the tavern refreshes, it will include a spell of your tavern level or lower, in addition to the usual number of minions of your level. Like existing spells in Battlegrounds mode (such as blood gems and triple rewards), new spells cannot be tripled and will be consumed once played. Cast your spells wisely!
New minions, new synergies
The Spellcasting Saloon is packed with 32 new servants showing up, and some of these thirsty customers have special synergies with spells.
The undead continue to explore the powers of death and are now capable of destroying minions during the recruitment phase! Make good use of these effects to instantly gain power and improve your warband over the turns.
Presentation of the cards
In addition to the 32 minions and 42 spells added to the game mode, 3 new heroes and heroines have decided to join the battle! We called back 5 servants to help them, but we had to remove 33 to make room for all these little people. The map presentations begin now and will end in style with a special event the day before the update is released!

Battlegrounds Mode Preview Event
On December 4, the day before the update rolls out, players from around the world will participate in a special live preview event and test out what’s new in Battlegrounds Season 6. Participants will be live on their respective channels, where their viewers will be able to win seasonal tickets, so be there! Here is the list of participants:
North America: 6 p.m. to midnight (Paris time)
Middle East and Africa: 6 p.m. to midnight (Paris time)
Latin America: 6 p.m. to midnight (Paris time)
Korea: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Paris time)
Japan: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Paris time)
Updated battlefield route
December 5 will mark the end of Battlegrounds Season 5 and the start of Season 6. On this date, players will begin earning rewards for the new Battlegrounds path in Season 6. Rewards of the Season 5 Battlegrounds course obtained but not collected will be delivered to you automatically.
The Season 6 Battlegrounds route includes western-themed ornamental items. Get it season ticket and immediately receive +2 additional hero or heroine options at the start of each game. Then, progress through the course to earn the Legendary Shot from the West, 19 additional Heroic Skins, a new Bartender, and more!
