The conference dedicated to the future of World of Warcraft has just ended. I invite you to discover all the information on the World Soul Saga and more particularly on the first of the next three expansions. Named The War Within, it will take you to Khaz Algar in the depths of Azeroth.

History

The World Soul Saga will take place over the next three expansions, the first of which will be The War Within. In the cinematic, Thrall finds an Anduin disillusioned by what he experienced during Shadowlands. They each had visions and sensed that Xal’atath had returned. The Nerubian kingdom of Azj-Kahet will be at the center of your attention, with its warriors ready to do battle with the forces of the Alliance and the Horde .Anduin will be back, just like Thrall who will try to find a place in the Horde. Magni will also make his return. Alleria Windrunner will also be at the heart of the story, she who is linked to the Void. Old characters, but also new ones, will be present in the expansion. The War Within marks the start of a new saga.

Zones and cultures

Khaz Algar is located west of Pandaria. It is a long-forgotten kingdom. During your adventures, you will encounter the Terrestrial. We have already encountered similar characters in World of Warcraft. They are a broken race whose society is in decline. They are no longer united as they were at the time and are divided into three tribes: Unbound, Oathsworn, Machione Speakers. The society of Terrestrials gradually disappears because there cannot be new Terrestrials. The Terrestrials will be able to become a race allied thanks to your actions and you can customize them in several ways: beards, eyes, jewelry, etc. Players will also encounter the Arathi. They are sacred warriors who fight against darkness. They do everything to bring light and a brighter future to the depths of Azeroth. They live in a gigantic cavern on the edge of a buried ocean. The land of the Arathi is constantly attacked by nerubians and creatures of the deep. third kingdom exists: the Nerubians.They are the survivors of the Black Empire.They evolved thanks to alchemical manipulations on the part of Xal’atath.Certain Nerubian models are completely new in WoW.New areasThe first area is theIsle of Dorn. The soil is fertile and there are flowers, trees and fauna that make this place almost a paradise: mountains, waterfalls… The central city will serve as the capital of the players. Beneath the island of Dorn are THE Resounding abysses. It is an industrial space with foundries and furnaces heated by lava. With fewer and fewer Terriers present, the Kobolds took control of much of the mines, even building their own city, becoming a force to be reckoned with under the leadership of the Kobold King. A little further is located Sainte-Chute. It is a vast underground area illuminated by a huge crystal. We find the Arathi and their capital there. They attempt to expand the Light while constantly fighting against the Nerubian Empire. While the crystal kept the flora alive, its light recently changed, plunging the place into darkness. Finally, we reach Azj-Kahet. It is the heart of the Nerubian Empire. We also find an incredible material there, Black Blood. The technology used to reach Zaralek’s Cave from the Dragon Isles will be used for The War Within zones. It allows you to move from one area to another that is not on the same plane without having to go through a loading screen. You will thus descend into the depths of Azeroth, and be able to rise again, in a completely fluid manner.

With the Chasm, Thirteen small adventures will be available for groups of 1 to 5 players, to play as you wish. You will face bosses. A Seasonal NPC will keep you company. In Season 1, it will be Brann Bronzebeard. He will have talents and customizable mechanics, the objective being to meet your desires and your needs of the moment. Brann will be able to open chests for you, but you will have objectives to complete first.BattalionsThis is a concept that allows everything you do to be shared between your characters. The philosophy put forward is to respect the players’ playing time. The transmogrification will be shared. No more need to do the same dungeon with 10 different characters to unlock sets. Resources, renowns and lots of things will be shared.Heroic talentsEach class will have 3 talent trees. The third will be smaller, it is about Heroic Talents. Each specialization will have access to two archetypes. A Warrior can thus become Mountain Thane, Colossus or Slayer. The system will be automatically unlocked at level 71. You gain 1 point per level from L71 to 80, which makes 10 points in total. These points will unlock the entire talent tree. You can easily change and move from one tree to another. to the other, whether in Mythic+ or in raid.
