The dress code was very clear: blue. Nice detail, blue sunglasses for a large group picture. Clearly blue, the uniforms of the employees of the Graz Parking and Security Service (GPS) are also presented as a deep, dark blue.
For 15 years, the more than two hundred men and women have been out and about in the city and their areas of responsibility are constantly increasing. The anniversary was duly celebrated today, Saturday, and a visit from the town hall also came: the mayor Elke Kahr and the city councilor responsible for the GPS Manfred Eber took the opportunity to say thank you.

Probably the most appropriate, which the mayor also praised, but found the director of the magistrate Martin Haidvogl. The chief administrative officer recalled difficult hours for the city of Graz, such as when driving amok or during the corona pandemic: “During these times, you, dear colleagues from the Graz parking and security service, were on hand.” Haidvogl also brought a gift to express that the GPS team is a group of heroes. “Then, when others leave, they go there, solve conflicts, ensure that rules are observed, give us security, are advisors and administrative assistants. None of your areas of work is easy. You are where it’s hot We can count on you. A huge thank you for that.”

Mayor Kahr and City Councilor Eber also expressed their gratitude. Eber also remembered the beginnings, when there was concern as to whether the GPS would work well. Many feared that democracy would be buried. “None of this has come true. On the contrary. GPS is writing an impressive success story that has opened another chapter with the takeover of ticket inspection and the retrieval of this area.”
