Analog devices and a separate climate control panel were finally abandoned: now all control is in the depths of multimedia. The eighth generation iDrive system itself has advanced functionality for working with cloud services and regular navigation. Instead of a full-fledged joystick for controlling the “automatic”, there is now a miniature selector, paddle shifters are included in the basic package. An exception is made only for the BMW M4: the joystick remains here, and in some markets there is even a “mechanics”.
