BMW gets a new chief financial officer

Walter Mertl (49) will be the new CFO of the BMW Group. He succeeds Nicolas Peter, who will retire following the Annual General Meeting in May.

Walter Mertl has been with the company since 1998 and has held various management positions in the finance and sales departments in Germany and Great Britain. In recent years, he has been in charge of the entire group controlling department. He comes from Augsburg and studied business administration with a focus on organization and business informatics.
