BMW plant manager against early combustion engine ban

The EU has postponed the final vote planned for next Tuesday to phase out internal combustion engines for new cars from 2035, as some countries – Bulgaria, Poland, Italy and also Germany – no longer want to agree. They get backing from the car industry. “We at the BMW Group don’t think much of an early ban on combustion engines, we believe that the market will decide when it’s time,” says BMW Steyr plant manager Klaus von Moltke.
