BNA intends to open more than two thousand accounts in Uíge in three days – Jornal OPaís

The National Bank of Angola (BNA) intends to open 2,500 bank accounts in the province of Uíge for three days, as part of Global Money Week, which opened yesterday in the region. To this end, the event, which takes place under the motto “Protect your money, guarantee your future”, has the participation of BFA, BPC, BAI, BIC and other banking institutions, which also took advantage of the opportunity to showcase their products and services.

The initiative aims to raise awareness among the population regarding personal finance management, the relationship with money, financial issues, livelihoods and entrepreneurship. Speaking at the opening of the event, the interim director of the National Bank of Angola (BNA) in Uíge, Miguel Banomba, said that a photocopy of ID card, passport photo and 100 kwanzas were required to open an account.

He stated that the initiative, which began in 2023, aims for education and financial inclusion to reach 85 percent of the national population, including students and public and private employees. In turn, the director of the Provincial Office of Social Action, Family and Gender Equality of Uíge, Arminda Filipe, praised the BNA initiative and hopes that the objectives of education and financial inclusion will be achieved.
